Riley + Abram are every reason why I live to be a luxury wedding photographer. One of my favorite parts about photographing weddings is getting to know and work with the couples before their actual big day. This sweet couple is from Washington, State and I actually grew up knowing Riley from as early as elementary school!

Abram works in the Air Force and much of their first year of marriage has been spent apart due to him being deployed. Talking with Riley about this experience being married to a service member was heart touching. I saw the love so strongly between both of them and how no matter how long they would be apart for it was worth it because they get to spend forever together.

This engagement styled shoot at Deception pass was any wedding photographers dream. This picture was actually my favorite from their entire session. We shot both the North West and North East side of the Deception Pass Bridge, and this was a candid moment that I caught between Riley + Abram. The way he smiled and looked at her the entire session is what every girl both little and big dreams of her entire life.

The Deception Pass bridge is such an iconic spot if you are local to or visiting Washington. It is more than worth the 2-3 hour drive from the Seattle area. From this area as well as on top of the bridge you can often see sea otters swimming in the water below you!

Deception Pass Beach is where we finished up our session for golden hour. Tucked behind the cove of a rock barrier, this hidden beach is a dream spot for any couple!

To get to this beach you endure a .3 mile steep decline down a trail covered in forested trees to walk out onto this beach.

I was so excited to shoot in this area with Riley + Abram because the Wide sand beach with the gorgeous calm water was where I knew I was going to really be able to see their relationship come to life. While they thought I would be adjusting a setting on my camera, really I was just silently capturing them dancing together next to the golden lit water. These two love birds were absolutely meant to be.

Because of COVID-19 Riley + Abram weren't able to have the wedding they had been planning and continually postponing. Instead, the couple eloped and had an intimate small ceremony with their immediate families. Because of this Riley was dying to have detailed images of her ring taken. This beach was the most incredible spot to style a flat lay of their symbolism of commitment.

I knew how amazing her absolute rock of a ring would look with the beach water and while we were shooting it a wave came in and knocked her ring over! Without a doubt my panic stopped my heart and Immediately forgot all about my camera and began searching for the ring. Sure enough the wave didn't take it out and we were lucky enough to grab the ring before anything drastic had happened to it.

I looked right up at Riley + Abram and she was laughing and immediately said "I'm not even worried I totally trust you".

That right there is the relationship every couple needs to have with their photographer. TRUST. Choose your wedding photographer based on your connection, your ability to communicate with each other, being honest with one another, and the ability to be comfortable infant of them. If you choose this over anyone who offers the cheapest price, or the most expensive photographer you can find, you will not only have the best experience but you will also end up with the most genuine and high quality images that ACCURATELY represent you and you significant other as well as how you chose to portray your special day that was completely tailored to you.
